There are several ways to access Deacon Road from the M27. Please use your SATNAV SO19 7NS or access the A3024 until you reach Deacon Road. Two suggestions from the M27 are given below.
From the west. Leave the motorway at Jn 7 Hedge End. Keep right on the off slip. At the light-controlled roundabout take the 4th exit on to Charles Watts Way.
At the next roundabout (Kanes Hill), take the 3rd exit on to Thornhill Park Road.
Just past the Esso petrol station and the Bittern Pub on the left, after the light-controlled pedestrian crossing, turn LEFT into Upper Deacon Road.
* Follow Upper Deacon Road to the traffic lights at the junction with Bursledon Road (A3024).Turn RIGHT then immediately LEFT into Deacon Road.
*Follow Deacon Road, taking care when crossing the Middle Road / Ruby Road staggered junction.
The Whites Road entrance to Itchen College is the first turning on the LEFT after the staggered junction.
Vehicle access from Whites Road/Deacon Road.
Once through the gates turn sharp right then left passing round the Sports Centre to reach the Nursery car park. Pedestrian access to the building is via the Sports Centre Entrance at the rear.
Please Note: The main entrance to the College on Middle Road is closed on Saturday so there is no access to the Middle Road carpark.
From the East. Leave the motorway at Jn 8, Bursledon. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit on to the A3024.
At the light-controlled Windhover roundabout, take the 3rd exit continuing on the A3024 Bursledon Road.
Follow Bursledon Road to the traffic lights at the junction with Deacon/Upper Deacon Road. Turn LEFT on to Deacon Road, then follow from * above.

Public Transport
Access to Itchen College by public transport:
Bluestar Bus 13 (Every half-hour from Southampton City Centre) via Woolston to Spring Road. Stop opposite Pets4Vets & Tesco Extra. Cross zebra crossing turn left into Deacon Road. Whites Road access to Itchen College is about 120m on right.
Bluestar Bus 18 (about every 10minutes from Southampton City Centre) via Northam to Bitterne. Stop on Bursledon Road opposite Police Station (now closed) which is on the corner ofWhites Road. Cross Bursledon Road at the traffic lights and walk down Whites Road (c.600m). Cross over Deacon Road into the Whites Road extension. The entrance to Itchen College is through the gates at the end.
